I manage strategic and daily privacy operations for our global firm, including overseeing new law implementations, process design and improvement, risk mitigation, planning, and privacy technology needs to make sure our global team has the capabilities they need to deliver advice, implement operational requirements, and ensure compliance.

My primary role is managing data privacy activities within the Global Privacy Office and providing oversight and consulting for data privacy activities across all FT entities in the Americas. Current efforts are largely focused on preparing to comply with the California, Virginia, and Colorado privacy laws and Brazil's LGPD.• Advise on best practices and local requirements to achieve Privacy by Design, satisfy regulatory requirements, and support business objectives• Support our internal data protection community in their day-to-day activities• Oversee accuracy and quality of the Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs)• Manage the Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) process, ensuring risks are appropriately evaluated and mitigated• Maintain a compliance and risk monitoring program to monitor for compliance with applicable laws and satisfactory protection of personal data.New law implementations include program oversight of:- Maturation of process and data inventories- Scoping impacted applications for ability to fulfill rights requests (access, delete, etc.)- Production and delivery of applicable disclosures- Rights request process- Website preparation (assessment, updates, etc.)- Control framework and documentation- Training and communications

I worked on a broad range of risk management and compliance activities largely focused on business process reviews looking for missing/failing controls, data privacy management practices, and risk consulting on high-impact projects. I also have over ten years of experience in overseeing policy and procedure content, ensuring both usability and compliance. Additional focuses included operational risk management, regulatory compliance, and risk education. As a certified professional coach, I brought a “coach approach” to risk management consulting, using creative inquiry to guide business partners through our risk management program and practices.• Reviewed complex business processes for control effectiveness and improvement opportunities• Monitored data privacy activities and consult on privacy inquiries/projects, including California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) preparation activities • Contributed to the evolution of the risk management program and support the implementation of an effective framework for managing operational risk• Consulted with business partners to assess business risk, mitigation plans, and control effectiveness, and to strengthen areas as needed• Monitored and report on business risk

As President on the nonprofit board, I worked with the Board to set the strategic plan for the year and provided oversight for all volunteer activities. Additionally, I supported volunteers in accomplishing their goals and ensuring the organization remained in a solid position to continue offering much-needed support to parents in the local community. Previously as Vice President, I focused my efforts on process enhancements designed to improve service delivery, fundraising, and communication with our parents and industry professionals. Prior to holding the Vice President role, I served as Secretary and was responsible for moving the organization's documentation and workflows onto digital platforms and modernizing data acquisition, storage, and usability.
