Amy Auth serves as Director of Legislative Affairs for the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts (NCAOC), which provides centralized administration and budgeting services for the state’s Judicial Branch of government. As a member of the NCAOC's executive team, she advocates on behalf of the entire Judicial Branch, including every level of state court and its justices, judges and personnel, the Conference of Clerks of Superior Court, the Conference of District Attorneys, magistrates, court programs, and several independent commissions based at NCAOC. Amy has over 20 years of communications and public affairs experience mostly within state and federal government, as well on statewide and federal campaigns. Most recently, Amy served as Director of State Affairs for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, representing the nation's first public university before lawmakers and the Executive Branch. In addition, she served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and Operations as well as Acting Chief of Staff for North Carolina Senate Leader Phil Berger and the majority caucus for over 7 years, where she worked directly with all members of the chamber. She also managed public relations and communications for former Gov. Pat McCrory on his first gubernatorial campaign, as well as for former U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole, Congresswoman Virginia Foxx, and the nation's largest independent broker-dealer during its IPO. Amy holds degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a member of the UNC-Chapel Hill Board of Visitors, the N.C. Human Trafficking Commission, the Junior League of Raleigh, the National Press Club, and Holy Trinity Anglican Church. She and her husband, Jerry, reside in Raleigh with their two sons and golden retriever.
