Adjunct Instructor Tpte 486University Of Tennessee Aug 1998 - Aug 2018(Introduction to Instructional Computing)TPTE 486 (formerly IT 486) examines how to use technology to support teaching and learning and is designed to prepare teacher preparation students to integrate a variety of computer-based technologies into the K-12 curriculum. The integration of word processing, the Internet, digital images, mapping, video, multimedia, and and Web 2.0 (blogs, wikis, photo sharing and a selection of web-based tools) will be used. Students will design lesson activities appropriate to use during their internship and professional practice. In addition, each student will upload activities to the electronic portfolio assessment tool (PLP) used to document evidence of competence. Demonstrations and labs are provided throughout the course as well as hands on activities. Class members are expected to participate in discussions (online and in class) and actively engage during class sessions. -

Serve on the school's Leadership Team as a member and secretary; I developed a PR plan to increase the enrollment of students in dual credit courses offered via Roane State. Additionally, I developed an interactive way to submit and coordinate senior exit data prior to graduation which would assist in post graduate contact and enable the school to measure long-term efficacy of graduates in the work place and/or in their post-secondary educational pursuits.Enhance learning by addressing each of Gardner's intelligences in each instructional unit as well as with the use of professional quality materials, color overheads, interactive and instructive PowerPoint presentations, Flash presentations, and web based e-mail clients. I also use various graphics programs such as Photo Shop, Print Shop and Paint Shop to create classroom visuals. Presented a foreign language methods session at November '03's TFLTA conference in Nashville, a technology workshop at the East Tennessee FLTA at UTK in March of '09.AP training completed June 2007.Frequently lead groups of students to Europe, June 2000, July 2003, May 2006, June 2008. Another trip is planned for June of 2010 as well as taking students to see local exhibits on historical information pertinent to themes being studied in class, ie Ink and Blood and Living On.
