As a 26 year veteran teacher of the Worcester Public Schools, I have taught grades 3, 4, 5, and 6; the bulk of my career has been spent teaching third grade at Worcester Arts Magnet School, where I also served as the creative writing teacher for grades pre-k through 6. In 2001, I was named Worcester Telegram and Gazette's ePick Teacher of the Year. In 2012, my grade-level partner and I were recognized for our students' outstanding MCAS scores in Math, ranking #1 in the state of Massachusetts, and our third grade students have ranked in the top one percent in English Language Arts. I serve on the WAMS Instructional Learning Team, and was recently awarded a one year grant by Explore Learning to improve student fact mastery. In addition, I am agented with The Prospect Agency as a children's book author and have written for various newspapers and magazines including Baystate Parent Magazine, The Landmark, and Chicken Soup For the Soul.
