Events ManagerAustralian Fitness Network 2007 - May 2014In this role, I oversaw the development and delivery of continuing education events for fitness professionals nationwide, including the FILEX Fitness Convention, the Network Convention, Network Training Summits and the Western Australian Fitness Industry Convention (WAFIC). Key responsibilities include:• Deliver commercially successful events, including budget control, event reporting and forecasting. • Ensure effective communication pre and post event with stakeholders. • Planning, operations and logistics for the delivery of the onsite event. • Effectively manage client and staff relationships including negotiation and conflict resolution.• Partner and sponsorship management, including being the main point of contact for long-term partners, executing sponsorship agreements and seeking new business in this area of the events. • Build, manage and mentor a high performing team consisting of permanent and part-time staff, consultants and volunteers throughout the calendar year. • Overall theme development, speaker selection and acquisition and delivery of each program – up to 260+ sessions, 170 presenters at any one time. • Research industry trends and developments to identify critical topics and prominent speakers. • Secure speaker commitments to the events, negotiate remuneration and maintain ongoing contact in the lead up to the event. • Manage the development and implementation of marketing strategy and creative including the event look and feel, branding management, design guidelines, EDMs, advertisements, event launches, promotional video concepts and onsite signage.• Liaise with in-house design team, produce the event copy and ensure website and print brochure is delivered to brief and deadline.• Oversee travel and accommodation management for staff and presenter faculty.• Facilitate post-event analysis inviting feedback from key stakeholders. Present findings to management and implement recommendations for future event development. -
