Finished the school year in a 2nd grade volunteer position. I planned, implemented and assessed all students during this month long work experience.

During this professional internship I worked with my cooperating teacher, Jennifer Spero, in 2nd grade. We followed a co-teaching model and I spent over 600 hours in the room. I took full charge of the room for 3 weeks of the internship and Jennifer and I co-taught lessons for the rest of the time. I assessed, grouped, planned and implemented math, reading, science and social studies lessons. I also implemented the Responsive Classroom approach in my teaching for management and positive community building in the classroom.

East Elementary School

The junior year experience required teacher candidates to work in two K-3 classrooms on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the whole year. I spent the Fall semester at East Elementary in Kindergarten with Susan Holsapple for 225 hours and the Spring semester with Claudia Shultz in 2nd grade for another 225 hours. During this time I planned and implemented large and small group activities and completed many classroom administrative tasks. During the junior year I also planned and implemented two full teaching days.

Coach gymnastics classes 2-3 times a week containing gymnasts of all skill levels ranging from ages 2- 16.

Columbus, Oh

This job required me to coach gymnastics classes 3-4 times a week with gymnasts of all skill levels ranging from ages 1- 18. I also coached the inaugural year of Worthington Youth Boosters Excel which is a recreational gymnastics team. Two other coaches and I chose, organized, planned and coached over thirty gymnasts for WYB Excel's first year in competition.

While earning my Master's Degree I also taught first grade half day in Athens City Schools. This opportunity is known as a teaching.
