Independently opened my own satellite facility in 2017: Responsible for planning, developing and implementing the budget for the new office. Located the space, designed and managed the renovation, staffed and stocked the office. Developed purchase plans for state-of-the-art equipment and services.Maintained compliance for OSHA, HIPAA, FDA and ABC regulations for Arlington office location.Negotiated prosthetic and orthotic hospital contracts including fee schedules and blanket purchase agreements; with United Medical Center in 2013, Sibley Hospital in 2014, GW Hospital in 2018, and Howard University Hospital in 2021.Supervised 5-8 clinical practitioners (orthotists and prosthetists) at a time: Led the hiring process, set their training schedule, lead quarterly skills trainings and chart audits, oversaw and evaluated employee performance and handled disciplinary actions and write-ups. Directed each practitioner to ensure the highest quality standardized care are provided to patients.Created, reviewed and updated job descriptions for all employees to ensure they are current and accurate.Worked directly with other department heads to create and implement orthotic and prosthetic policies promoting efficiency in the workplace. Provided supervisory guidance to other department heads and helped to supervise supply technicians and administrative support staff for the offices.Managed five total office locations. Handled the scheduling, profit reports, and expenditures for each office location and worked with the owners to develop more efficient business practices.Treated patients in the office and at hospitals, rehab and nursing facilities, physical therapy offices and with the MDA as detailed below in my role as a Staff Orthotist.

Worked with an assortment of patients requiring spinal and upper and lower extremity orthoses within the office, hospitals, rehab facilities, and nursing homes. Performed evaluations, castings, fittings, deliveries, follow-ups, adjustments, and repairs.Worked closely with the DC Muscular Dystrophy Association adult and pediatric clinics providing on-site orthotic services treating the often challenging patients who suffer from neuromuscular disease.Ran my own marketing campaign for both adult and pediatric orthotic management making contacts at new facilities, providing inservices and patient education sessions to obtain new referrals and promote the benefits of orthotic and prosthetic treatments.
