In the beginning of Girl Talk Ministries, I spent time writing curriculum and leading Bible studies each week, as well as finding host homes, lining up snacks, planning events to coordinating mission projects around Montgomery and discipling girls outside of Bible study and Missions. A few years into Girl Talk as our middle schoolers got older, we were able to create an intern opportunity that includes an intense application process. Each year, we sorted through the applications, contacting references and creating documents to take to the board. I had to be really organized in this and there a lot of moving parts to getting everything submitted, sent out and reviewed. Once the interns are decided, learning how to delegate responsibilities, giving them girls to contact and equipping them to lead small groups, mission projects and discussion during our big group is needed. This has been so helpful in delegating all the responsibilities in our ministry where now it is something girls can do on their own. Today, I am so thankful to co-direct Girl Talk Ministries with my best friend, Lindsey Curl. We lead Girl Talk Ministries together writing, recording and producing what needs to be done online, social media and in person for our 20+ cities and girls and moms meeting and studying with us across the world. Responsibilities today still include creating graphics, making videos, using promo content to post on social media and creating mass emails to announce dates of Bible studies, events and missions and also includes website design, finding new ways to continue our fundraising yearly, managing donation and expenses, and designing t- shirts for the summer fundraiser and much more!

As Minister to Girls, my primary responsibility was to disciple girls and meet them where they are. On a weekly basis, I managed student discipleship groups for 7th-12th grades, rotated in student Sunday School classes, led a discipleship group, as well as one-on-one discipleship, trained small group leaders and helped manage Girls in Action ministry for our 1st-6th grade girls. My main goal as Minister to Girls was to come alongside moms as they disciple their daughters and built relationships and made disciples with our girls grades 1st through 12th. In this position, I also managed social media accounts, planned events, planned and organized Senior Sunday graduate recognition service and was very involved in partnering with the women’s ministry in discipleship and events connecting with girls ministry. I also managed the Student Ministry Christmas Mission Project each year, also involving Adult Sunday School classes, to provide Christmas for over 30 children involved at our inner city ministry and planned their Christmas party. Other responsibilities included recruiting leaders for Disciple Now, Youth Camp and other events as well as planning mission projects, outreach events and fellowships. Throughout the year, I had the blessing to lead girls discipleship events and spend time at their sporting events and other activities where they were.
