I love to work hard at work worth doing, especially as part of a team committed to making an impact.My involvement in college with an impact-based student organization set me on a path for nonprofit fundraising and service-based work. I experienced how it feels to make someone else aware of a problem in the world, and even better, help them see how they can be a part of solving it. Simply put, I've been hooked on bringing people into meaningful work ever since.My career has been a series of engaging different audiences in making an impact, including colleges and universities, individuals participating in fitness challenges, national corporate partners, sports leagues, media, major gift donors and legacy gift donors. With each audience, the element that sparked my interest in nonprofit fundraising - making others aware of a problem and inviting them to be a part of the solution - has been the common denominator. In the context of doing this work in the nonprofit space, it means working across teams and departments, combining ideas and perspectives and looking for opportunities that best serve the organization overall. It requires listening to the team to hear what roadblocks or challenges may exist and finding the right solutions that enable them to do their best work. I feel most like myself when my work makes it possible for others to do their best work. Outside of work, I enjoy doing purposeful work with others as a volunteer with several organizations that are on the front-lines of community support.
