Learned how to handle various animals including: snakes, tarantulas, scorpions, alligators, parrots, and tortoise. I also aided in the care and husbandry of the zoo's collection of animals including porcupines, lynx, skunks, coyotes, deer, and Florida panthers. A huge aspect of the intership was also educating the public about various animals in our collection and learning how to engage audience members and allowing them to touch or hold some of our animals.

Aided my zookeeper mentor in counting animals in our exhibits and preparing food for the zoo collection.
