I made my first $50 in social media on Myspace in 2005. A local air conditioning repair company wanted to have a profile on there. I laughed a little,and thought that having a company on social media was stupid. SO, here we are!My social media experience started on Myspace as a local comedian and radio DJ. I built my own following on there not by blasting my shows, butby engaging with my friends. In short...being SOCIAL. I got my first big clients soon after, a few auto dealerships in the Phoenix area. Since then, I've worked in several industries. Then, in 2012, I gotmy first cannabis client.Back then, we didn't lose our accounts on Facebook or Instagram. It was so fun! Then, Zuckerberg caught on and decided weed was bad. (I thinkit's because nobody smoked pot with him in college because he created Facebook to make fun of how women look.) I learned ALL the rules onFacebook and Instagram, and to this day, I re-read them every 6 months. That's what professionals do!I think outside the box for my cannabis clients. I've managed Discord, Twitter, reddit, and the mainstream networks for many years. I stress to myclients that social media isn't about selling. That's what paid media is for. Social media is about being social, building connections and a greatcommunity online. Along with full social media management, I do the following:1. Compliant social media training 2. Personal branding on LinkedIn - optimizing profiles and teaching how to get the most out of LinkedIn. I have been here for over 20 years, so myexperience is extremely valuable.3. Branding review - I can tell you what looks good and doesn't, which evolves in the cannabis industry on an almost monthly basis.4. Investor relations 5. Website review - Do all your links work? Does the website flow properly? I can tell you what's good and bad. 6. Mentoring If you want your brand to stand out, I'm your girl. I've used every network under the sun, and know where your target audience is. It isn't always onInstagram! In 2011, I donated my kidney after seeing a tweet. In May 2013, I embarked on a cross-country trip to interview and film other kidney donors, for the documentary "Social Media Stole My Kidney." It was funded largely through Indiegogo, by my social media following.I also have a sister who found me on Facebook. I hadn't seen her in over 20 years! So, when people say Social Media is stupid, I have evidence otherwise.When people use the phrase "think outside the box," they're pretty much talking about me.
