• Direct, coordinate, and conduct operational activities for the Division, providing strategy, tracking, and oversight for program operations areas such as production targeting, fiscal/budget, technology needs and personnel matters. • Act as Division liaison to the Office of Development and across the agency, ensuring that the Division is up to date with the latest news from various areas of the agency including, new reporting requirements, policy initiatives, training opportunities and current events related to housing.• Act as a critical contributor to the development of programmatic policy and procedures that are in line with the goals of the entire Division, including evaluation of existing programs to help ensure programs or special initiatives are meeting intended goals and the development, planning, and execution of new initiatives and programs.• Review and analyze policy proposals impacting the division or affordable homeownership and make recommendations to Assistant Commissioner, Associate Commissioner and or the Deputy Commissioner as needed.

• Oversee the agency's homeownership component, consisting of foreclosure prevention programs, home repair programs, counseling services and advocacy initiatives. • Build relationships with partners, municipalities, Wayne County, foundations, funders, universities, and other housing agencies.• Assist senior leadership and Director of Communications and Grant Management with fundraising and budget requests to ensure sufficient resources.

• Advocate for residents by acting as primary correspondence between the Wayne County Treasurer, City of Detroit or other governmental entities and clients through the handling of negotiations, discrepancies in payment agreements and other requests.• Develop and carryout programs and/or procedures to address the comprehensive needs of households impacted by tax foreclosure. This includes collaboration with other components internal to UCHC including Data, Repair, Mortgage/Land Contract.

• Establish fluency with property tax assessments, law, and events at the local, county, and state levels.• Concisely describe complicated resources to clients at risk of property tax foreclosure through written flyers and verbal and written counseling sessions.

Create, coordinate, and lead all events with the objective to familiarize students and staff with the local transit system and mobility options. This position gives WSU affiliates first-hand experience on DDOT, RefleX, SMART, QLINE, MoGo, etc. With the goal of building campus community awareness, comfort and confidence in transit options, the Transportation Ambassador is responsible for establishing and assisting in the growth of the relationship between WSU and existing local transit/mobility systems.

Neighborhood Revitalization Coordinator implements a neighborhood needs assessment for the Eastside Neighborhood.
