Through growing up in a multicultural family, defeating the language barrier (Mandarin and English), overcoming racial hardships, and understanding my skills and strengths, I have found a passion for pursuing the field of Human Resources, specifically in Employee Relations. I find motivation and passion through forming meaningful relationships and creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all I interact with. As a recently graduated International Business Major who specialized in Human Resources Management and earned an Asian Studies minor with a focus on the Chinese language, I had the ability to pursue my global mindset by learning more about other people’s cultures and experiencing how norms uniquely differ through spending a semester abroad in Bulgaria and traveling throughout Europe. Additionally, I broadened my knowledge in all things DEI by taking educational courses that required in-depth research and facilitation of respectful yet challenging discussions. My top five Clifton Strengths are Restorative, Discipline, Deliberative, Focus, and Responsibility. Throughout college, I have utilized these skills through many on-campus leadership experiences. For instance, as the President of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Table Tennis Club, I orchestrated financial budgets, recruited members, solved complex situations, coordinated with external sponsors, met strict deadlines, and ultimately provided my members with encouragement and positive experiences.
