A freshman then, I signed up, never realizing it would launch a career in marketing spanning 15 years. Starting with social media strategy, now I navigate a full roster of digital, acquisition, brand, partner and product marketing. Today I serve as the Senior Manager of Engagement and Insights at Desert Financial, Arizona’s largest credit union. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature at Arizona State University in 2009 and with a Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2022 from ASU. For three consecutive years, I've earned distinction as a top volunteer at Desert Financial. My favorite organizations include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona, Aunt Rita’s Foundation and the Arizona Animal Welfare League.

    As the Marketing Project Manager, I am responsible for making sure the marketing team meets all deadlines for marketing and strategic initiatives for Desert Financial. I spend a lot of my time supporting the strategic and creative marketing teams so we can meet goals and deadlines. The marketing leadership team has high expectations and sets bold goals for the team and it is my responsibility to make sure we are doing everything in our power to make them a reality. We utilize WorkFront project management system to track projects, campaigns, time, resources, etc. In 2020, the Corporate Events Manager and myself planned and executed the annual all employee event. 2020's event was completely virtual and featured A-List celebrity appearances. We worked on the planning for this event for 5+ months before execution. It was a highlight to a year that was anything but normal and the feedback was tremendous! That same year, my leader, the AVP of Brand Communications went on maternity leave. I was asked to step in and take on her role while she took Q4 of 2020 off. This was an intense stretch assignment for myself but I was up for the challenge! I went from one direct report to 15+ and became responsible for decisions that would directly impact the entire marketing team and our annual goals. It was hard work but once my leader came back the feedback I received was positive! With the support of marketing leadership and the marketing team I was able to fulfill my duties and those of my leader.
