Assume increasing levels of accountability via promotion for this nonprofit organization that provides shelter, care, and support to youth experiencing homelessness in Detroit and Grand Rapids. Create and implement effective fundraising strategies and manage relationships with publicist and vendor providing social media coverage. Coordinate and contribute to grant procurement program, identifying new funding sources. Draft marketing messages and copy for publication in print materials, website, and social media that promote agency initiatives and programs. Engage with resources to maintain connection with Covenant House International. Oversee and report on $1M budget.

In addition to my responsibilities in the Executive Office, I was project lead on the agency's two signature fundraising events: A Night of Broadway Stars and the Sleep Out, which raised over $1M under my leadership. Other ongoing projects critical to Covenant House Michigan's success that fell under this interim position included management of their website, media relations and social media channels. In October 2011, I co-chaired the planning committee for the 40th Annual District 15 Fall Conference.

Covenant House Michigan (CHM) provides youth facing homelessness with shelter, educational and vocational programs. We build a bridge to hope for young people facing homelessness and survivors of trafficking through unconditional love, absolute respect and relentless support. Our doors are open 24/7 and our programs are designed to empower young people to rise and overcome adversity, today and in the future.In my role as a Development Officer, I utilized multiple software programs in managing a database of over 15,000 supporters of the agency. I am experienced in Raiser's Edge/Raiser's Edge NXT, Convio, Donor Drive and Greater Giving software. In addition, I served as site lead for the agency's signature event, Sleep Out: Executive Edition from its inception in 2014 until 2017. As site lead, I handled recruitment, planning and logistics for the event and interfaced with leaders at the corporate level in coordination of efforts. I was promoted to Executive Assistant in 2016.

I was responsible for council-wide management of all aspects of program delivery through series and events program offerings. Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan (GSSEM) covers eight counties representing a mix of diverse cultures and urban and rural environments. The series and events offerings are customized to meet the needs and interests of girls, offered in a short-term flexible format, and implemented to meet designated leadership program outcomes. I established collaborative partnerships to pursue series and event offerings; guided the utilization of national curricula; and supported volunteers in enriching and tailoring the leadership experience for girls. My background in fund development was an asset as the agency sought diversified funding sources.

Delivered Benevon training module to help this professional association that serves engineers, scientists, and technical professionals in Detroit area build sustainable funding streams and engage donors in meaningful ways. Worked with team of engineers and inspired people to support development of regional engineering talent.

Selected from nationwide application process to complete “Coming Into Your Own” leadership program. Selected as one of 30 trainers nationwide to deliver newly-developed Girl Scout Program Model to staff and volunteers throughout country. Delivered training that enabled program participants to develop goal-setting, problem-solving, decision-making, and effective communication skills. Served as member of leadership team and trainer of adult volunteers as certified instructor. Oversaw and educated team of 100 volunteers. Worked on logistics for annual meeting and co-chaired gala.

Managing one of the leading salons in Southeast Michigan, it was there that I polished my customer service skills, interacted with future donors and developed an understanding and appreciation of the small business industry.

A wonderful beginning to my professional career, I learned a great deal working for one of the nation's largest GS councils. My skills in platform delivery, management and volunteer relations can be traced to my experiences with the Michigan Metro Girl Scouts. While at MMGS, I completed a very rigorous instructor of trainers certification program with GSUSA and became a facilitator in the subject of diversity awareness as part of the University of Michigan's program for educational opportunities.
