To have a vocation is to have a calling, not merely a job. A vocation brings meaning and fulfillment to one's life. As a licensed professional counselor supervisor and certified rehabilitation counselor, I have dedicated my career to helping others as they transform their lives after a challenging medical or life event. I have over 20 years experience in rehabilitation of persons impacted by acquired brain injury.I find it rewarding to help an individual return to a productive life and overcome the emotional and situational hurdles that come along with moving from an injured patient to a productive member of their community again. My other passion is counseling the caregiver in adjustment after an injury.I started my career as a cognitive therapist, focusing on vocational rehabilitation and psychotherapy. I then began supervising a multi-disciplinary team of rehab professionals. I managed a facility as the clinical site manager. Most recently, I decided to get back to direct patient care. I'm passionate about my work and the population I serve. I particularly find problem solving clinical interventions to help a person progress in their recovery whether that be a cognitive or emotional challenge extremely rewarding.
