About Amy J. Hauenstein, Phd

I am an experienced education researcher and academic affairs administrator with expertise in higher education, professional programs, operational improvement, and student/staff development. My research interest(s) focus on how the cumulative nature of our educational experiences affects identity construction. My research examines intersectionality and education - that is, the impact of racism, classism and neoliberalism, ableism, and patriarchy within the institution of education and in learning organizations, and more specifically, their influences on (multiple) identity constructions of students/learners, staff/employees, and faculty. I am deeply committed to and passionate about social justice and equity in education.I am a #FirstGen college grad with deep working-class roots that shape my worldview and work ethic. I am an anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ affirming, anti-poverty, feminist scholar of curriculum studies, whiteness studies and critical race theory, and I am a spirited social reformer; I am a firm believer in the power of the underdog.Contact me at ✉ amy@learningdesignsllc.com if I can be of service.
