Reporting directly to the Associate Provost for Graduate Education, responsible for envisioning, leading, and implementing academic innovations across Northwestern professional programs by fostering collaborations among stakeholders internally, supporting the provosts’ vision for professional programs that are quality-driven, student-centered, and revenue-generating. Develops and executes an institutional framework for professional programs through higher education and labor market research, policy analysis and development, and by creating centralized resources for academic innovation and collaboration that operate synergistically with related resources in the colleges to pursue opportunities. Works closely with colleagues in the Office of the Provost, Student Affairs, the Office of Institutional Research and Policy, the Office of Budget and Planning, and select schools, including The Graduate School.

The Inclusive Teaching Practicum is a three-week cohort-based program designed for instructors of all levels, backgrounds and teaching contexts to deepen their understanding of how their identities, positionality and practices (as well as those of their students) impact course climate and student learning, and to reflect on how they may interrogate and decenter dominant perspectives and content.

The Office of Equity offers a variety of informational sessions, trainings, and workshops designed to inform students, staff, faculty, and visitors about their rights and responsibilities as members of the Northwestern community, and to equip community members with the tools to create a vibrant, equitable, and accessible learning environment for all.

The Northwestern University Staff Advisory Council (NUSAC) serves as an advisory voice and change-agent for Northwestern staff in matters relating to community development, professional opportunities and workplace concerns. This is accomplished through active engagement with staff, the University President, the Office of Human Resources and/or various senior administrators.

As Director of Curriculum and Non-Degree Programs, I conducted regular reviews of professional program curriculum, structure, and delivery models and managed the development and delivery of new offerings. I consulted on the development and assessment of learning outcomes, as well as, developed course evaluations and identified areas for improvement. I provided senior level leadership and management of program activity and manage the needs of faculty. I collaborated with the Searle Center for Teaching, Faculty Directors, and School Administration. Additionally, I served as the program liaison for Alumni Mentoring, Professional Development, and Continuing Education Programs.

The Task Force, comprised of students, staff and faculty, serves the School of Communication by advising the Dean on the development and implementation of SoC-wide DEI goals, objectives, and activities, as well as track and assess these initiatives.

The Inclusion Task Force will focus on the critical work of advancing the departments efforts to embrace its diversity and promote a culture of inclusion and equity for all SoC students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
