I am a communication executive and researcher with more than 20 years of industry experience. As the president of Hellem Consulting, a medical communication firm, I help global pharmaceutical and device corporations design and manage campaigns, produce research-based branding, and analyze and report on competitive landscapes. I also lead focus groups and advisory boards, and develop and disseminate scholarly, marketing, and educational content.Early in my career, I worked in academia and non-profit research, collaborating with bureau directors from the National Institute of Justice, National Institute of Health, Bureau of Justice Assistance, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and Centers for Disease Control. Next, I transitioned to the private sector. As Editor-in-Chief of the Review Group (WebMD), I had complete oversight for several publications as well as for all conference content. My role as Chief Community Officer also involved planning, developing, and executing a new professional social media platform at a time when social media was relatively uncharted territory. In addition, I've taught upper-level undergraduate courses in organizational and medical communication at Chapman University and have authored more than 200 articles and scientific papers.
