In this role, I had the opportunity to design and deliver transformation that ultimately helped us deliver the AARP mission through technology more effectively and more efficiently. The transformation included colleague/customer engagement, project management, solutions architecture, business analysis and end user support services. We introduced another cloud-based solution that enables us to offer flexible member services, content and subscription services.

In this role, I increased productivity and efficiency by turning around 28-module ERP program and ultimately delivering on time and on budget. Led organization from Lawson/JDEdwards to Oracle ERP and five Oracle Analytics modules.

Hired to optimize IT performance and support, during a time of government conservatorship, organizational ambiguity and high employee turnover. I am proud to have led the team that achieved $121M in 5 year savings by delivering a failing enterprise program by stabilizing the team, re-configuring the project plan and rebaselining delivery.

Served as CIO, CISO and Banking Operations Officer for 18 branch, $780M retail bank, auto finance and mortgage company. Communicated technology and banking operations status to Board of Directors, President and CEO. Led implementation of bank counter capture to reduce overall retail banking expenses, developed business case to move to front counter capture within the next year. Liaised with federal regulators.

Provided technology leadership for 1,300 property REIT, reported technology status to Board of Directors. In this role, I reconfigured IT department to create business facing team, created first IT strategy document with business input. Coached extensively on project management and delivery skills, improving on-time/on-budget projects from 10% to 55% in 6 months. I created new IT governance model with active Steering Committee and quantitative business case requirements. Transitioned ERP support to Power User model, re-engaged business users, created ERP Steering Committee for prioritization decisions.

Consultant/Program ManagerAccountabilities: Partner with executive leadership to create new IT business relationship organization. Oversee project portfolio for H&HS.Challenges: Defining business analytics strategy within a new organization (Client Services) in the technology function, immature/undefined engagement model and processes and cultural resistance to quantitative business case analysis. • Created and maintained program plans across 8 programs and 15 projects, worked with business to prioritize efforts and issuesConsultant/Project ManagerAccountabilities: Turn around high visibility Service Oriented Architecture program for Merck Research Labs, manage project risks and CSSQ.Challenges: High visibility, business-critical project to integrate all clinical technology applications into new SOA model using TIBCO. New IT shared services engagement model with immature/undefined processes, high levels of churn, infighting, limited internal expertise, aggressive deadlines. • Created and maintained project plan, managed development partner (offshore vendor) workstreams on “follow the sun” 24 x 6 development schedule, evaluated deliverables, managed timelines, reported status. Identified and documented process improvement opportunities. • Redesigned failing project and delivered first set of working web services after two rounds of failed attempts by previous project managers.
