Sci Aero are a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (QuadCopter/ Drone) manufacturer that were in the early days of expanding their online community. I spent six weeks with Sci Aero understanding their business, directing and filming their two week RPAS training course, directing some initial establishment steps, and providing a project plan that outlined their options for moving forward in the most successful way with highest chance of ROI.

As the project manager for a Group wide project I worked with managers in London, Montreal, Brisbane and Perth supporting and coordinating Organisation Design streams. Providing a overarching understanding and evaluation of the projects of work underway. Also, completing research and facilitation of a systems review for Performance & Reward, including consultation of leaders throughout the business.Supporting our global team in best practices for global, multiple time zone team work using digital tools. Researching, developing training and supporting those involved.

During my 31 months at Rio Tinto, I have been a part of strategic project teams and also worked as an environmental specialist.1. Strategic ProjectsIn 2012, I was selected based on performance appraisals and leader suggestion to be part of an Executive Committee project team that was responsible for defining the Iron Ore business strategy. Work was completed in a high pressure environment with exposure to a broad and high level knowledge of Iron Ore markets, business models, and Human Resources strategy. Being involved from conceptual design, research, liaising with senior management, workshops and to communicating the top priorities, skills were gained in business etiquette, building effective relationships with stakeholders and the management consultant approach to communication through PowerPoint and report writing. In 2013, I assisted a project team in centralising a number of HR transactional processes from site to a central location including the standardisation of key processes. In particular, I reviewed HR reporting (data collection and analysis) and provided a new and more effective reporting solution. In addition, I conceptualised and constructed a one-stop shop for leaders to access key HR processes and guidance needed to manage a team.2. Environmental SpecialistAs an Environmental specialist at Rio Tinto I gained exposure from approvals through site environmental management through to corporate strategic environmental perspectives. Completing eight months as Pilbara botanist, four months as a site environmental advisor learning our requirements under the ISO14001, ministerial statements and our internal policies including incident management and reporting, and 7 months on energy technology, environmental offsets and greenhouse gas related strategic projects.

A one year research thesis on Carbon, Nitrogen and Phosphorus in soils of grazed, grazing excluded, and non-grazed Eucalyptus woodlands of the West Australian wheatbelt.Two months of field work around the Merredin region, three months laboratory work on an array of soil analysis experiments, two months on data analysis and thesis writing.

Student representative with responsibilities including contribution to the re-design of degrees at UWA in particular science degree structure, judging panel for Teacher of the Year awards, chairing the faculty student body, event organisation, minute taking and treasurer.

A combination of general administration for a medical research group, plus medical receptionist for a Respiratory Consultant.
