My center supports students in lieu of expulsion, rather than creating a holding space to mainstream these youths, our focus is to teach them mindfulness, healthy coping mechanism, forms of breaking harmful cycles with an emphasis of self-reflection. My role is to lead our young men's group, support their academic successes, implement mindfulness, support the LGBTQQA group, the after school credit recovery program, and reflect being a positive adult in their lives.
