About Amy Kington

Amy believes that for business to thrive, it needs purpose. Do you want to increase business performance? Differentiate your company and earn a legitimate place in the world? Attract, retain and motivate diverse talent and improve employee well-being? Do you want to nurture strong customer, supplier and stakeholder relationships? Amy and the team at Purposeful Insight help businesses of all shapes and sizes transform their future by growing to the benefit of everyone. Amy is an altruistic business leader who has been involved in using sport for social change in Bristol since 1998. She is passionate about improving the life chances of young people and creating opportunities so that they can fulfil their potential. Amy has previously served as a special police constable with A & S Police, a position that she held for 10 years. She has also worked for Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, Bristol City Council, The FA and Bristol City Football Club. Whilst working in each of these organisations Amy’s work has been recognised through the achievement of national awards. In 2011 Amy was asked to lead a transformational change programme at BCFC that would help the organisation respond to the challenges that the City faced whilst also supporting the football club to achieve its goals. Amy helped the trust to measure, evaluate and rethink to reach a higher level of strategic execution. She developed a team that built a sustainable & innovative business model that adapted, innovated and envisioned the future. Together, they created economic opportunities and leveraged resources that brought millions of pounds into community, sport and educational development. Amy was instrumental in setting up a hugely successful education offer which saw the trust deliver post 16 education programmes to over 200 learners. Amy was also responsible for helping the football club to secure planning permission for their new stadium and in 2013 she was seconded to the club’s Academy for 12 months to lead them through EPPP. The Academy was successfully awarded Cat 2 status by the Premier League and applauded by the authorities for raising standards. In 2015 Amy took a group of 33 volunteers (ages 15-70) to Africa to undertake incredible charity work. Amy has completed an MBA at UWE where she sits on the advisory board for the school of business and law. Amy is also a Business Fellow at UWE and a Learning Ambassador for the City.
