About Amy Campbell

If we continue to fail on the climate crisis - democracy, human-rights, and the basic fabric to sustain life will collapse. The climate crisis implicates development, conflict, health, politics, migration. Awarded a Fulbright scholarship to study a Masters in climate policy at Columbia University’s climate school. My Masters in climate policy specialises in climate vulnerability - I'm gaining expertise across climate science, Climate investment, Disaster Management, climate decision-making science, migration policy and frameworks, and sustainable development. My Masters specialism is in Climate Disaster Preparedness, I am currently writing a paper on climate risk and vulnerability for the G20 Presidency (to be published in November 2024). Working with the Rockefeller Foundation and National Centre for Disaster Preparedness to develop a more holistic set of climate vulnerability metrics, to better incorporate non-linear climate risk, and a wider understanding of vulnerability (socio-economic conditions, historical indebtedness etc).On a career break from the UK negotiations team to the UNFCCC COP, following a climate policy track in the UK’s Civil Service Fast Stream (postings in energy, transport decarbonisation). Interested in climate vulnerability policy, climate risk and security, and derailment risk. Selected for the inaugural Cohort 2040 pilot climate development programme with Chatham House and the IPPR.Passionate about climate careers and access. Led the creation of the Climate and Environment policy profession in the UK Civil Service, to professionalise the climate and environment space in the public sector.Social mobility advocate: always seeking to narrow the disparity between state and private school education.
