As a Data Scientist at Metis (a 12 week, full-time, accredited, immersive data science bootcamp), I developed skills in programming, data acquisition and visualization, statistical modeling and machine learning. I implemented supervised and unsupervised machine learning models to answer real-world questions, with a strong focus on data visualization and effective communication of results. End-to-end data science projects were completed primarily in Python and include:*1. Exploratory data analysis of MTA turnstile activity to increase voter turnout by activating inactive voters using voter enrollment data by election district and census data.*2. Linear Regression to build a model to predict a song's highest rank on the Billboard top 100 chart based on Spotify API song audio features and data scraped from Billboard's website.*3. Classification methods to predict flight delays based on weather and flight conditions using regression and tree-based algorithm, XGBoost, and data collected from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics and DarkSky API. Achieved an F1 score of 0.71 and accuracy of 0.90.*4. Parsed 40 episodes of the Great British Bake Off subtitles (.vtt subtitles) from Netflix to gain insights on the changes and trends over seasons and episodes using topic modeling using TF-IDF and NMF clustering, sentiment analysis between the male and female judges and contestants using Vader and Tableau to visualize results and PCA for dimensionality reduction.*5. Doggogänger: Created a Flask app that will predict what dog breed a human or dog most resembles using a Convolutional Neural Network and OpenCV. User then has the option to be redirected to PetFinder.com to see whether a dog of that same breed is available for adoption. When fed a dog's photo, achieved 86% accuracy of predicting the correct breed.
