In addition to providing legal advice and representation for clients in relation to native title claims, this role also includes conducting Federal Court proceedings, preparing evidence, appearing in court, writing legal submissions, briefing experts and negotiating Indigenous land-use agreements between Aboriginal Traditional Owners and the New South Wales government.

The National Native Title Tribunal provided court ordered mediation and dispute resolution services in relation to native title legal proceedings as well as making administrative decisions regarding compliance with relevant legislation. My role as State Manager involved leading and managing staff, financial resources and service delivery across Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide offices. I also implemented strategic and operational plans, ensured service delivery aligned with regulatory requirements, delivered a range of projects including several change management initiatives, developed policies and procedures as well as representing the agency in public external forums and stakeholder dealings.

Using strong leadership and team building skills, I managed a team of case managers responsible for project managing and mediating native title applications in NSW and ACT and a team responsible for making reviewable administrative decisions regarding the registration of native title applications and Indigenous Land Use Agreements. Working collaboratively and strategically with Tribunal Members, the senior executive and specialist business units within the organisation enabled me to effectively deliver a range of services whilst managing complex projects and policy reviews as well as regularly evaluating and reporting on service and project performance.
