Have spoken at many conferences on gender justice issues and violence against women including NYU, USC, Dokuz Eylül University and Gediz University (Izmir, Turkey).Have worked as a freelance writer/editor or staff writer for many newspapers, magazines, websites, nonprofits and corporations. My articles, letters and/or photographs have been published in The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times Magazine, Harper's, The Dallas Morning News, The Denver Post, Vegetarian Times, Natural Solutions, Conscious Dancer, etc. I wrote a nationally syndicated travel column with a million readers for a syndicate of The Chicago Tribune. Amy led a turnaround of the SF Bay chapter, recruited and engaged board members on an ambitious agenda, increased fundraising 4600% and tripled membership in the first year in office.
