Hi! I'm Amy Simpkins, CEO of renewable energy consulting/tech startup, muGrid Analytics. Using all the tools in my toolbox ranging from deeply intuitive coaching to system architecture to actual rocket science, I help muGrid clients implement energy strategies and systems that optimize their bottom line and help the planet too. I am also an innovation facilitator, speaker, and thought leader. I believe at my core that innovation is for everyone and holds the key to both personal fulfillment and lasting global change. I host the Power Flow Podcast, amplifying diverse voices and encouraging collaborative innovation in the energy revolution.I’m an MIT-trained astronautical engineer, and I spent 10 years designing, building, and flying spacecraft of various sorts. My time as an engineer taught me to follow my passion, to let the big picture and the details play together on the same stage, and to integrate qualitative and quantitative elements to solve big problems. I left the quest for the stars for this new quest for personal freedom and big impact through building my own businesses. Good design is good design, whether you are flying the final frontier, building a world-changing business, or solving the worlds energy needs. I am the author of the book, "Spiral: A Catalyst for Innovation and Expansion." I love innovation, iteration, integration, and many other words that start with the letter I. And I am always happy to geek out over revenue stacking and financial optimization for solar, solar + storage, and microgrid energy systems.I am a messy chef, a world traveler, a taekwondo green belt, a vocal music minor, a mom of three curious innovators, and a tough cookie in the Colorado backcountry.I welcome you to connect with me here on LinkedIn and see what we can co-create together.Specialties: renewable energy solar powersolar plus storagemicrogridsmicrogrid-as-a-servicereal-time control and dispatching of DERsworkshop facilitatorbusiness developmentdesign thinkingspeakingentrepreneurshippersonal developmentinnovation theorypodcastingwomen in STEMdiversity in STEM
