My core focus as the Associate Deputy Chancellor for National Partnerships and Innovation is to provide strategic leadership for the College’s national partnerships and workforce innovation priorities within the Innovation & Business Strategies division, responsible for operations from strategy through delivery. The role includes leveraging relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote Dallas College’s national position of influence to ultimately support students, communities, and strategic priorities. Key responsibilities include: 1) Serving as a collaborative leader and thought partner to the Associate Vice Chancellor to drive and extend the Innovation & Business Strategies mission while working alongside institutional leadership to achieve strategic priorities, 2) Providing strategic leadership and relationship management for developing mutually beneficial workforce development partnerships, 3) Seeking to increase Dallas College’s position of influence nationally, 4) Staying up to date on Future of Work trends and initiatives to best position the College as a thought leader and active participant in the national conversation of workforce development policy and initiatives, 5) Creating scalable and impactful programs and initiatives (product development) that will not only keep up with the pace of business, but with the rate of change, anticipating industry disruptors, 6) Assembling teams of internal and external stakeholders to affect notable change by harnessing our collective ingenuity to improve the national workforce ecosystem and harvest gains in social and economic mobility.

Directed two national projects sponsored by the US Department of Labor ($26.2M) to create solutions that transform the model for upskilling and workforce development in the healthcare, transportation, advanced manufacturing/robotics, and IT sectors. Lead a nationwide team including staff/partners from national associations, credentialing bodies, consultants, Dept. of Defense, and clients to meet programmatic goals and design industry-recognized apprenticeship programs offering transparent career pathways and stackable credentials. Supervised staff and contractors on overall project discovery/incubation, strategic planning, internal/external stakeholder engagement, validation, and national scaling of new workforce development products. Maintained strong professional knowledge of relevant legislative issues, industry trends, and marketplace issues. Oversaw all project components including the development of mentor training, competency-based apprenticeship training framework, integration of systems, program evaluation, acquisition of resources, budgeting, staff management and development, employer engagement, and stakeholder management.

The Web3 Certification Board (W3CB) is an internationally recognized organization dedicated to setting and maintaining the highest standards of knowledge and competence in the evolving Web3 ecosystem. Founded in 2023, we are an ensemble of blockchain enthusiasts, developers, educators, and thought leaders brought together by a shared vision of creating a reliable and standardized educational platform for Web3 technologies. Community College Apprenticeship Intermediaries Advisory Committee: Supported by Ascendium Education Group, this two-year research project aims to surface leading community college apprenticeship intermediaries, identify factors and resources needed to be successful, document best practices and lessons learned, and develop a set of recommendations to inform state and federal investment related to community colleges’ role in the American apprenticeship system.

Directed all business operations, research administration, faculty affairs, HR, and training opportunities for an academic research center. Partnered with executives to advance strategic priorities and goals.

Continued with all responsibilities listed under Program Administrator below, plus: Developed practical, workforce/career-focused education and training program operations to bolster campus-wide and national recognition while setting the strategic direction and tone for executive leadership. Spearheaded a multi-year project from development to implementation in collaboration to develop a new solution for the purposes of effectively managing academic data and reports to analyze key performance metrics. Co-created and taught a graduate level course on mentoring, leadership, interpersonal, and workforce skills. Partnered with other academic medical centers around the country to develop novel workforce development offerings.

Directed the daily operations and project development/implementation for clinical and translational research workforce development programs at a major academic medical center, sponsored by the National Institutes of Health Clinical & Translational Science Award ($28M grant). Directed all academic program operations – from boot camps to graduate degree programs, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive program strategy and solutions. Developed strong working relationships across the organization and with nationwide partners to advance our clinical science workforce development mission.

For five years, Amy served in a leadership role at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas where she directed a staff of 11 in the operations of two multi-million dollar, four-class student housing communities. Furthermore, she managed educational programs, spearheaded development initiatives and chaired search committees. Also at SMU, Amy had extensive experience managing and serving on various University projects/committees including: student life assessment, staff recruitment, staff training/development, admissions, external relations and staff professional development.

Conducted research and built partnerships to keep institutional leadership up to date on vital legislation and issues critical to higher education and public policy interests. Responsible for project management and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.

Taught a 10-Week seminar to incoming, international graduate students with the goal of extensively familiarizing and assisting with the major transition to the United States, New York City, and New York University; Regularly met and strategically planned with faculty to design and implement syllabus and lesson plans.

Managed campus housing for 700 students. Coordinated with stakeholders across the institution to ensure student success.

Worked part-time in varied roles related to student affairs and housing; focused on leadership development, customer service, operations, conference services, and mastering the art of higher education administration.

The Caring Institute is a non-profit organization directly affiliated with NAHC. In this role, I orchestrated preparations for the 2003 National Caring Awards in Washington, DC. In collaboration with NAHC, I assisted with the successful negotiation in legislative battle on Capitol Hill by lobbying in the interest of home care clients, resulting in a 5% decrease on required co-pays for home care services; Further, I served as tour guide for the Frederick Douglass Museum & Hall of Fame for Caring Americans; Represented the organization at several political fundraising events on Capitol Hill.

Sold and marketed fine art to affluent clientele worldwide while hosting profitable art shows with world-renowned artists; Assisted with business functions such as marketing, advertising, and engaging client interest and loyalty.
