For more than 25 years I have been documenting lives through storytelling. In print, audio and images I have shared the stories I've heard with audiences worldwide. My reporting experience includes food and agriculture, climate science, business and ecology.As a freelance writer and audio producer, I have contributed to NPR, The World, The New York Times, the Boston Globe and other outlets. Since 2020, I have contributed to Agri-Pulse, edited for St. Louis Public Radio and the California Newsroom, reported and produced for KQED, worked on APM's Field Work podcast and spent two months onboard the scientific research vessel JOIDES Resolution.From 2012-2020, I worked as the agriculture reporter at Iowa Public Radio, where I earned awards from the Iowa Broadcast News Association, Midwest Broadcast Journalists Association and RTDNA. I led multimedia projects and produced a video that has more than 800,000 views on YouTube. Past station-based work included WFCR in western Massachusetts and KUAC in Fairbanks, Alaska. I independently produced "Celia's Alaska: Pioneer Stories of Denali" and "Peace Corps Voices." I served the audio community as a board member of AIR from 2008-2015.Proud to be a member of the LGBTQ+ community.
