My first 8 years with PwC were spent in the state and local income tax area focusing on large restructuring projects. I found that the aspects of the projects I enjoyed the most were project management activities such as facilitating meetings, assigning resources and driving the process. I especially enjoyed acting as an extension of the tax department throughout the implementation of the project.I was able to diversify into managing other types of projects. I worked as a loan director on a post acquisition global integration of two large Chemical companies reporting directly to the VP of Tax. I spent 18 months managing 200+ people on the largest single tax project for PwC tax in the US, an ASC 740 restatement related to international taxes. I expanded my skills by obtaining my Project Management Professional certification, PMP.In 2012 I became a Transformation Driver in the Organizational Transformation Group. My responsibility has been to imbed project management, process improvement and automation in how the PwC US tax practice delivers consulting and compliance services to PwC's clients. I identified pain points and inefficiencies in a process and designed tools for improvement. I took the tool through technology development, roll out to the practice and drove the change process. My second role was to understand global initiatives, evaluate the value to the US tax practice, design the US customization and implement the initiatives for the US. My most financially impactful projects were working with the Asset and Wealth Management (AWM)practice. Through automation and process improvement we removed greater than 5 Million hours annually from the AWM compliance process. My strongest skills are seeing connections where others don't. Identifying unique ways to leverage existing tools and technologies and seeing possibilities for future impactful enhancements. I also love acting as an advocate whether for an individual, a client, or a practice.
