In addition to my teaching duties, I have held multiple leadership positions and have created new programs at my school. -Curriculum writer: I built ELA curriculum from the ground up which included using high-interest novels to teach the ELA standards and developing questions that use students comprehension and critical thinking skills. I am able to adjust this curriculum throughout the years.-ELA content team lead: lead meetings, develop benchmark criteria, support by coaching teachers-8th grade team lead: facilitate meetings with the 8th grade team, including cross-curricular content ideas-Student Council advisor: meet weekly, develop community initiatives, responsible for all events-Mentorship advisor: create and execute a mentorship program between 8th graders and the elementary school students (3-5) where the students would meet a few days a week to work on subjects where they were struggling

I tracked and managed firmwide submissions for ChambersUSA, ChambersGlobal, Legal500 and other directories; assisted with writing firm profiles for directories; and edited firm submissions. I also provided deadlines and milestones to marketing managers and assisted with coordinating practice group submissions. Additionally, I assisted the communications department in writing for non-directory publications for individuals and practice groups.

My adaptability and public relations background translate easily into the classroom. My enthusiasm and work ethic have helped me throughout my careers and I am always excited for the next challenge.I have taught grades 7-12 at alternative, charter and public schools. Known for my classroom management skills and ability to teach with a real world approach, I implore each student to develop critical thinking skills. I work with each student on writing skills through a series of writing workshops. I also encourage each student to use proper grammar at all times.

I wrote a weekly blog for recent college graduates that included proactive advice followed up by current research trends. I was responsible for meeting a weekly deadline and coming up with original ideas that would be informative and timely for the job seekers on Beyond.com.This freelance opportunity allowed me the chance to hone my writing skills while researching job trends.

As Public Relations Coordinator, I handled media relations, public relations, community relations, writing, and development/sponsorship for the Annual Bench-Bar Conference. A personal highlight of my time at the Bar Association was winning an American Bar Association award for a weekly e-newsletter for our young lawyers division (3,500 lawyers). In addition to the above responsibilities, I was the Public Relations liaison to the Advancing Civics Education Committee, which brought civics education to 9th grade classrooms in the School District of Philadelphia. I also worked with the young lawyers to bring community programs to Philadelphia and was responsible for a Communications intern from Temple University.

While employed at the American Heart Association, I supported the Communications department. This included assisting with the local web site, writing and disseminating press releases, pitching awareness campaigns to local media outlets, and supporting the events department with publicity. I also published a weekly internal communications newsletter that was sent to the Pennsylvania/Delaware region of the Association.
