I'm working to expand public understanding of our complex food system, and I'm advocating for plant breeders, farmers, food processors, and others who help ensure we have an abundant, affordable, safe, healthful food supply. I work for a wide variety of clients, including food & beverage brands, grower cooperatives, and commodity boards. I specialize in culinary nutrition and nutrition communication, and I love public speaking! I am the co-author of Cooking a la Heart: 500 Easy and Delicious Recipes to Help Make Every Meal Heart Healthy.I write a monthly column for Produce Business magazine on food and flavor trends impacting the foodservice industry. I'm a farmer's daughter; I grew up on a family farm in northeast North Dakota. I got my bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis, and completed my master's in nutrition communication at Tufts University.
