Allan is a Hebrew Bible Professor and Ph.D. student at NAIITS: An Indigenous Learning Community with research interests in Indigenous methodologies, patristic and rabbinic interpretations of Scripture, anthropomorphic language for God, ancient Near Eastern culture, Old Testament prophets, theology, literary characterization, rhetoric, and feminist perspectives on Scripture. Amy completed her M.Div., summa cum laude, at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri. Following clinical pastoral education (CPE) training, she was invited to join the spiritual care department at Northwestern Medicine in the Chicagoland area and currently serves as a chaplain at Northwestern Medicine Delnor and Central DuPage Hospitals. In another avenue of ministry, she has the joy of participating on a Indigenous Bible translation project as the Hebrew and Old Testament consultant for the First Nations Version. Amy's ministry flows from her own journey with Christ and includes advocating for abuse survivors, leading worship in multi-ethnic churches, anti-racism activism, care for those who are houseless, speaking in a variety of academic and ecclesial contexts, volunteering in programs supporting patients with craniofacial anomalies, and finding creative ways to engage and honor Native American traditions.
