I have had the privilege and honor to lecture and educate veterinary technicians, assistants and veterinarians around the world. My lecture topic list is vast and focuses on emergency medicine, disaster medicine, management and team growth for the hospital. I have held hands on labs, worked with translators and lectured at veterinarian only (no technicians) conferences. Under the direction of Health and Human Services and is part of the National Disaster Management System. The National Veterinary Response Team (NVRT) is a federal team that is deployed during federally declared disasters. Received extensive animal disaster training including Haz-mat, Incident Command System, National Incident Management System, Foreign Animal Disease, Decontamination, Response and Recovery, Mass Triage, etc. Was Logistics Officer from 2001-2004 (responsible for supplies and inventory). Disaster deployments include: 9/11 in New York City, Avian Influenza outbreak in Virginia, Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy, 4th of July Event in Washington DC.When deployed I work as a veterinary technician providing assistance and medical care to animals.

Working on large national program for hospitals that focus on training and team development. A focus on creating healthy, happy teams that are able to communicate effectively. Managing and developing large projects from beginning to execution and maintenance.

Focus on organization wide education & career development programs for technicians and assistants within BluePearl Veterinary Partners. Involved in multiple committees and projects for the Mars Veterinary Health Group (all Mars veterinary hospital groups). Still maintain veterinary medicine skills/knowledge by working emergency department shifts.

Staffing (hiring/firing), recruiting, reviews, scheduling, inventory ordering, equipment maintenance, emergency day and overnight floor shifts, creation of SOPs and education/career development for team. Hospital was previously VESCONE: Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center of New England. Purchased by BluePearl Veterinary Partners in 2013.

Was the owner of a sole-proprietor business that focused on canine behavior modification and training. Worked with boarded veterinary diplomats in behavior to execute their treatment plans at home as well as instructed puppy basic obedience classes from a local animal shelter facility. In 2008 when the recession occurred it was not profitable to continue. Prior to opening the business I studied behavior for a summer at Purdue University.

Worked in emergency department rotating day/evening/weekends. Hospital was purchased by BluePearl Veterinary Partners in 2013.

Worked in emergency/ICU of 24 hour specialty hospital.

I worked as the program manager for a non-profit called MAC; Massachusetts Animal Coalition dedicated to animal welfare programs in the state of Massachusetts. The program worked to support local shelter efforts by providing a low-cost spay/neuter clinic for both dogs and cats. As the program manager and certified veterinary technician for the brand new donated clinic at the Tufts University Grafton campus, I was responsible for organizing, buying supplies, working with shelters, working with shelter veterinarian. I was the only technician who also took in the pets for the day and was responsible for inducing, monitoring and recovering all pets from anesthesia and discharging back to shelters. All pets were intubated, monitored with multiparameter machines including EtCo2 and provided pain medications. The clinic was a high volume facility with just myself and one veterinarian facilitating up to 30 surgical procedures in a day.
