Birmingham, Alabama Area

 Managed the day-to-day operations of the housing system, including seven residence halls, 6 specialty houses, and an apartment complex. Recruited, selected, trained and supervised all staff, including office staff, house advisors, hall directors, and resident assistants. Created a tailored, academically oriented, room assignment system. Created and/or designed a variety of office publications. Advised the Residence Hall Association, conducted discipline meetings, and served on campus wide committees.

 Managed a residential area of 1000 students in traditional and suite style, co-residential halls. Supervised and evaluated two professional, Masters level staff members and 33 volunteer resident assistants. Coordinated the recruitment and selection of 73 volunteer resident assistants. Planned an extensive training and orientation for new professional staff as well as continuing professional staff development. Served as judicial officer for the Colllege.

 Managed a residential area of 1200 in an apartment style high rise. Selected, trained, supervised 5 graduate hall directors,32 resident assistants. Coordinated the operation of a 24 hour customer service/security desk, including selecting, training, scheduling and supervising student staff. Supervised the area’s custodial services, including a Housekeeping Supervisor and 16 housekeepers.  Conducted discipline meetings, heard appeals. Instructed a section of AHE 450: Resident Assistant Leadership Development.
