Provide counseling services for general and special education students. Assist families in accessing community resources for at-risk students. Make necessary referrals to Child Protective Services. Initiated and co-facilitated a grief support group for several children with parents with AIDS. Managed and counseled several clients infected with HIV or who have developed AIDS. Discussed personal issues with clients surrounding the disease in person and through telephone conversations while maintaining client confidentiality. Determined when client required the assistance of a specialized agency and referred clients to such an agency for legal, medical, financial and personal assistance.
