86th Legislative SessionResponsible for 3 Sunset Commission bills from initial Sunset Commission votes until final passage of the legislature resulting in the re-authorization of the Texas Military Department (TMD), Texas Veterans Commission (TVC), and Texas General Land Office, Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB).Chairman Flynn, a member of Texas Sunset Commission, was the author of all 3 Sunset bills that were passed through the committee that session.

Responsible for preparing the Chairman’s legislative portfolio for pensions which became 21 filed bills. Despite changing chairmanships, I was responsible for Chairman Flynn’s pension bills including updates to the TMRS statute and an overhaul of the Galveston Police pension plan which passed into law. We successfully negotiated a deal between the City of Fort Worth to make major changes to their pension system in early 2019, resulting in no need for legislative intervention.

Assisted the Chief of Staff with the preparation of the legislative agenda for Chairman Canales' 86th Legislative Session.I worked primarily on legislative research comparing policies of different states regarding wind energy issues and identifying regulatory issues in Texas wind energy law.
