The Director of Development is responsible for the effective planning, organization, direction and overall leadership of the comprehensive fund development program of the Adrian Dominican Sisters Congregation. The Director provides vision for the department, identifies potential sources of funding, leads fundraising efforts and promotes the organization's benefits and interests to donors and prospective donors in accordance with the mission, vision and values of the Congregation.

Community Leadership: Provides collaborative leadership for and with community partners, leaders, and agencies.Organizational Leadership: Participates in partnership with the Board of Directors in setting organizational direction, developing organizational goals and operational plans, and achieving agreed on results. Development and Management of Resources: Oversees growth and management of United Way's human and financial resources. Accountability for Operations and Fiscal Integrity: Maintains accountability for the overall operational and fiscal integrity of the organization within the policies set by the Board of Directors.

Overall responsibility to coordinate the organization's short-and long-term Community Impact efforts consistent with the mission and goals of the Lenawee United Way. These operations inlude the general support of the fund distribution process, outcome measurement, community initiatives and partnerships, and involvement in ongoing community associations.

As School Relations Coordinator, it was my responsibility to organize, plan, and implement communication strategies, including maintaining relationships with the media, creating internal and external marketing documents, writing communication plans, editing letters, brochures, and handbooks, and coordinating media events. I also provided leadership for the district website, educational television programming, and video and audio productions. I worked closely with the Lenawee County Association of School Boards, coordinating events and trainings for local school board members. Additionally, I planned and emceed the District’s annual back to school professional development session which is attended by all staff.

The Island Resort opened to the public in August 2002. To prepare the business for opening, I was responsible for the day to day operations and marketing for the Resort. I prepared advertisements for magazines, newspapers, and radio. In addition, I developed an operational budget and business plan. I managed the contracted construction teams and hired, trained, and managed the housekeeping and front desk staff.
