- Responsible for the planning and execution of all marketing and communications initiatives for Kahn’s domestic subsidiaries and regional offices. - As a member of the firm’s core sales team, I also collaborated with other members of the firm’s leadership to identify business development opportunities and formulate strategies for growth in the firm’s client base and diversifying its service offerings. - Additonally, I served as project manager for all planning and implementation efforts associated with Kahn's brand revitalization program.- Ensuring that all materials & communications delivered a consistent message & accurately reflected the firm’s brand also fell under my pervue.

Primary responsibilities included:- Managing the day-to-day activities of a five-person marketing group; directing workload, scheduling assignments, tracking progress of projects and evaluating & mentoring staff- Ensuring expectations of internal clients, namely 19 Vice Presidents & Principals, were met- Developing customized proposals/presentations for business opportunities within tight deadline constraints- Participating in team efforts to develop, pitch & implement new strategies for increasing exposure within the industry, modifying messages/delivery methods based upon intended target audiences- Writing, reviewing and editing press releases for distribution to media- Identifying appropriate media opportunities for the firm and working with media contacts to pitch stories and promote accomplishments of the firm and its personnel- Writing copy/narrative for brochures, presentations, website, intranet & general marketing purposes- Coaching Principals & team leaders in preparation for key presentations- Writing and/or editing copy for internal & external newsletters, as well as overseeing layout, production and distribution- Collaborating with our graphic design team to develop cutting edge award submittals- Coordinating professional photo shoots for completed projects- Participating in team efforts to develop, pitch & implement programs for increasing employee morale & camaraderie- Planning and executing special events, including trade shows, workshops, company-wide social events & client functions - Ensuring all materials & communications deliver a consistent message & accurately reflect the firm’s brand

I joined Kahn in January 1998 as a co-op in the Marketing Department. In December 1998 I left Kahn for a 1-year contract with a small architecture firm in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I returned to Kahn in February 2000 as a Marketing Coordinator.Prior to entering the A/E world I worked for three years at a mid-sized moving company, where I served in an office manager capacity.
