About Amy Symons Burke

I am an instructional consultant who works with school leaders and teachers to improve teaching efficacy and student outcomes. As a systems and equity thinker, I provide strategic planning for instructional leadership within school culture. Additionally, I coach both early-career coaches as well as K-12 teachers. Pulling from my own experiences in classroom teaching and training in instructional coaching, I build rapport with teachers and identify areas for growth. Common focal areas include: equitable and inclusive practices, curriculum design and development, alternative assessments, arts integration, flexible groupings, classroom management and teaching to different learning styles and readiness. I regularly coach individual teachers, departments and clusters online.Outside of education, I design, develop and facilitate dynamic professional learning trainings for full staff. My expertise with differentiated instruction and coaching helps leaders expand their capacity and selection of methodology based on the audience. As a late career educator, I distill complex topics and pivot learning expertise to other systems--businesses, foundations, non-profits, and museums.
