I was involved in the management of numerous research projects with the focus being the improved delivery of DNA, mRNA, siRNA and small molecules in vitro and in vivo. This role required excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm to continuously learn new research skills and techniques.

This project aimed to investigate the implications of a novel therapeutic on the prevention and treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus. I conducted extensive in vivo studies and performed qRT-PCR for a range of adipogenic and immunogenic genes. ELISA analysis of serum, and adipose tissue immunohistochemistry skills were essential to the completion of this project. Skilled animal handling, exceptional organization and time-management were key to the success of this project. This role required presentation and communication of technical data to funders and commercialization mentors, and preparation of data and text for grant applications. The work I performed during this project was key to securing further funding.
