I'm an experienced and trusted leader, driven to get results through curiosity, integrity and understanding people. I’m passionate about helping corporations and family enterprises (directly or through their family office) build their social capital and shape their approach to philanthropy by: • Engaging the next generation of leaders • Looking beyond profits and EBITDA to design philanthropic strategies that integrate business, employees, customers and community• Efficiently scaling new or existing initiatives• Building purposeful programs that make a measurable impact and leave a lasting legacyMy holistic approach to business and philanthropy incorporates my strong background in strategy, governance and operations and my keen ability to solve complex problems. For over 20 years, I was a vital part of my family’s 4th-generation business, Henry’s, Canada’s largest independent imaging retailer. Most recently, I was proud to lead the launch of the Pixel Foundation for Henry’s, which champions the use of creativity to support, improve and promote mental health. Before that, I worked across the business, from merchandising, to marketing, to purchasing, to logistics, to sales— from entry-level to the executive to the board. I also led Henry’s successful re-entry into photofinishing in 2017, challenging the status quo to create a unique value proposition, which thrived at a time when others were getting out of the business. All of this gave me a deep understanding of the nuances of business from multiple perspectives (family member, employee, board and shareholder), and of the importance of establishing an approach to charitable giving that aligns with a company’s values and vision. I know how to engage the next generation of leaders, who have new ideas and expectations—and how to navigate the dynamics across generations to build consensus. I love the challenge of building from the ground up, and passionate about defining a strategy, creating the infrastructure to support it, implementing it successfully and measuring its impact. I have a natural ability to get a team working together toward the same goal. Above all, I am driven by the opportunity to use my skills to help organizations make an impact that really matters.I was an active board member for Leadership Sinai (Toronto’s Mount Sinai Hospital) and a driving force behind the annual Henry’s Tournament Fore Health supporting the Marvelle Koffler Breast Centre. I am a proud MBA alum of Dalhousie University. FEA - Family Enterprise Advisor Candidate 2024.
