Profile bio

About Amy Summe

I worked at Beak Consultants in first the Sacramento, CA and then the Kirkland, WA offices. At Beak, I supported senior staff developing Environmental Impact Statements and Habitat Conservation Plans for a variety of projects, including wastewater treatment plants and timber harvest. After Beak closed its Kirkland office, I joined The Watershed Company in 1999 and became an owner in 2006. Early in my Watershed career, I performed wetland delineations and worked on mitigation plans. Once I discovered permitting, I quickly specialized in that area, with a focus and interest in state and federal permitting in both eastern and western Washington. My particular areas of interest include water-dependent developments (aquaculture, marinas, residential docks), transportation and utilities, parks, and restoration for a variety of client types (state, county and local government; tribes; private developers and homeowners). That work led to Shoreline Master Program updates, where I devoted a significant amount of time over more than a decade managing and working on multi-disciplinary teams supporting Cities and Counties in that effort, including Cities of Kirkland, Bothell, North Bend, Carnation, Medina, Monroe, Marysville, Yakima (among others) and Benton County, Whitman County and its seven cities' SMP update, and Adams County. More recently, I've been working on combined Shoreline Master Program periodic updates for Kenmore and Bothell.Specialties: - permitting and regulatory compliance at local level (SEPA, shoreline, critical areas) - permitting and regulatory compliance at state and federal levels (WDFW, DOE, DNR, Corps, EPA)- shoreline master program updates (managed more than 15, task lead or support on more than 40)- critical areas regulations updates- Endangered Species Act compliance- Public involvement

Listed skills include Wetlands, Mitigation, Environmental Impact Assessment, Environmental Awareness, and 24 others.
