CurrentMy husband and I successfully transitioned my family’s international agriculture business from the founding generation to the second generation. We were hands-on, executing the daily operations of the business by leading our small team and supporting our worldwide customers, the largest was based in The Netherlands. We managed the supply chain with the most significant relationship being a vendor based in Taiwan. We successfully sold and transitioned the business to a strategic partner in August 2023. I know the emotional rollercoaster of business ownership, and sale process. At times running the business and going through the sale process is exhilarating, but there are many points of feeling isolated and alone. I have been lucky enough to receive guidance and support through formal and informal mentorship, business coaching, academic education, chance encounters and friendships that have developed along the way. If part of my “what’s next” includes being able to support business owners (especially women) who are in the day-to-day business operations with their spouse or anyone going down the path of selling their business, I am more than happy to talk. So many people were generous with their time and expertise as I was going along my journey, I am eager to pay it forward and give back.
