Taskrabbit is a gig economy marketplace of reliable skilled Taskers to complete household tasks and errands, available in 9 countries. Reported to the CEO. Responsible for a 100-person remote-first global organization that included Product Development (B2C product on web and mobile), Partnerships (B2B and B2B2C products), Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, and Technical Program Management. As a remote-first company, teams were distributed across all time zones in US, Poland, and India.Key Team Accomplishments:• Set technical strategy for future growth, including restructuring architecture to scale both product development and cloud infrastructure, and adhering to industry best practices.• Grew global team from 50 to 100. Hired domain experts with industry expertise. Invested in new teams focused on core engineering excellence. Through these efforts, successfully reversed attrition trend and improved engagement score by 19 points from 47% to 66% within first 6 months of my tenure.• Revamped Engineering career leveling guide to focus on engineering and business excellence and support new updated company compensation structure to attract and retain strong ICs and leaders in the competitive market for talent.

Executive Head of Engineering at Patreon, during Series C-E phases. Patreon is a SaaS membership platform that gets creators paid. Initially joined Patreon as the Director of Engineering responsible for Product Engineering for our core membership experience, focusing on growth and consumer product development on web and mobile. Promoted to VP/Executive Head of Engineering after 10 months.Reported to the CEO. Responsible for an 80-person global organization that included Product Engineering, Payments, Infrastructure, Security, and Program Mgmt. Teams were distributed across San Francisco, New York, and Dublin. Served as Executive Sponsor for ERG for working parents ("Sprouts") and ERG for underrepresented genders in tech ("Engersections"). Key Team Accomplishments: • Built platform paying out over $1 billion to artists and creators annually.• Rearchitected product and implemented new features to support new three-tiered pricing model. New features included team accounts, merch as a service, and annual memberships.• Expanded product internationally: Launched 4 languages and payments processing for 5 different currencies on our platform.• Improved team engagement by 13 points from 54% to 67%, during challenging COVID era.

Head of Product Engineering at Planet Labs, during Series C phase. Planet is a space tech startup that captures daily imagery from small satellites built in-house. Led a 60-person organization (grown from 10) to build the SaaS platform to deliver imagery to end users. Established technical leadership structure, which included Engineering Managers and TechLeads. Teams were distributed across San Francisco, Seattle, Austin, San Antonio, and other remote locations. Key Team Accomplishments:• Launched Planet Data Platform, a cloud-based SaaS platform that processes 7-10 terabytes of daily data into a catalog of over 6 petabytes of data.• Launched Planet Explorer, a web app that allows users to search and discover our image archives of daily imagery anywhere on the planet.• Launched Planet Stories, a web app that allows users to tell and share stories about our changing planet, using daily imagery from our archives.• Launched Developer Center, a hub for technical resources for developers.• Launched Beta of our new Analytics Compute Processing engine, which allows users to analyze and glean insights from our image archives.• Launched prototyping sandbox that demonstrates our platform capabilities, which the Product team has successfully used for live demos to prospective customers.

Joined Planet as the company's first Engineering Manager to provide experience managing and scaling teams. Promoted to Director after four months.

Moved from Austin to San Francisco to join the Silicon Valley tech workforce. Led a team of 15 software engineers (developing in Python, Java, Scala, and C), distributed across San Francisco, Seattle, Boulder, and New York. Responsible for developer tools to improve engineering productivity and effectiveness for 1300+ engineers. Also served as lead member of ERG for Women in Engineering (“WomEng”).

Transitioned to open source after a decade in enterprise software. Joined the OpenStack cloud computing community, which Rackspace heavily invested in, during a time when the new "DevOps" movement picked up significant momentum through shared code and collaboration of ideas between developers and operators. At Rackspace, led a team of 10 software developers (developing in Python and C++) to build the Rackspace Cloud Databases DBaaS product on OpenStack technology.Key Team Accomplishments:• Started the Trove database-as-a-service open source project, and led the project from incubation to full adoption.• Launched Rackspace Cloud Databases product powered by the Trove open source project. • Grew Trove community from 5 to 50 active developers, across 10 different companies.
