Merchandise Planner Position: Open to Buy / Planning and Forecasting / Analysis•Forecasting weekly and monthly sales based on historical trends and future anticipated business at the departmental level to better manage business and control inventory•Weekly reporting to Buying staff the Open to Buy results, future goals and forecasts•Analyzing and interpreting the 4-5-4 Excel Planning tool •Suggesting changes to such plans in accordance with current trends and/or historical data•Derive weekly sales plans based on monthly sales goals, historical performance and calendar holiday schedule•Monthly reporting to upper management and Buying staff•Analysis, as needed, recognizing comparisons of business trends (i.e. holiday sales results TY vs. LY) •Monthly meeting with GMM, DMM’s, buyers and Dir. of Planning to review sales, inventory and weeks of supply plans•Weekly analysis and interpretation of Sales Flash Reports at both the dollar and unit levels
