Support planning, development, and implementation of procedures and/or work packages to comply with Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) Environmental Protection program requirements associated with permit conditions, licenses and environmental regulations. Provide subject matter expertise and interpretation in support of implementation of environmental program requirements that specifically apply to the WTP facility and/or specific systems they are assigned. Support construction and startup turnovers to commissioning on management observation reports, as well as provide environmental compliance activities. Subject expertise is applied in conjunction with environmental evaluations, activity level requirements flow down to Plant Management, and concurrence with implementing technical procedures and work packages. Assist the Facility Shift Manager in response to environmental-related alarms and other dangerous waste or air permitting (emissions) anomalies. Work with the facility management to ensure solid waste, air and wastewater permitting requirements are met. Provide support and problem solving to plant management and staff related to environmental issues and concerns, and potential compliance issues. Perform daily facility walk through to prevent compliance issues. Review daily data summaries and alarms from the permitted equipment and instruments for anomalies. Review facility daily, weekly, monthly, etc. inspection records to locate and correct errors before the inspection window is closed. Perform environmental compliance self-assessments. Respond to compliance issues and investigate regulator and agency questions / issues, as directed. Escort or accompany regulators and agencies when they perform a compliance walk through of the facility and responds to questions, as appropriate. Write and respond to Condition Reports which involve environmental compliance issues.
