In 1999 I created a very unique business model centered around the idea of allowing a flexible work and home life balance. In 1999 there were not many "work from home" companies, but I needed to find a different way of working while I started a family. I wrote a business plan, created a book keeping system, marketed services, planned events, nurtured client relationships, and brought on staff to support the business as we began to grow. I guided the company through 15 successful years of growth.

Planned group travel, meetings and events for corporate clients. Started out answering phones part-time, eventually moving to full time while attending college full time. By the end of my time at this company I was managing major events and conferences for the agency's most valuable accounts. I left this job to start Grand Connection and a family.

My first stab at entrepreneurship was when I was around 10 years old, my sister and I started delivering eggs via horseback (a fragile operation) for .75 a dozen to our neighbors. A big pile of quarters felt like a gold rush to us at that age. As we grew we realized the profit margins weren't really sustainable but we had a great time and learned so much.
