About Amy Walsh

I am a trusted advisor and advocate for clients who face scrutiny by government regulators and prosecutors. Ranked Band 1 in Chambers in White Collar Crime and Government Investigations, I lead high-stakes internal investigations, litigation, and trials for my clients. Prior to entering private practice, I was an Assistant U.S. Attorney for 12 years in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York and was the Chief of the Securities Fraud Section in that Office. As a federal prosecutor, I led dozens of investigations and cases on behalf of the Department of Justice and supervised several sections within the Office.I now represent individuals and companies in government investigations, enforcement actions and prosecutions conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Internal Revenue Service. I regularly negotiate pre-litigation resolutions with government officials, but when the proposed resolution is not in my client’s interests, I welcome the opportunity to litigate cases against the government, including going to trial. I am a fierce advocate for my clients, and my work often results in the government declining to bring charges.
