During my tenure, I worked closely with the board of directors and staff through their leadership transition, strengthening the organization and moving it forward in critical ways, positioning it for continued success in the future. In my capacity as the interim leader, the board, staff and I accomplished the following: * Conducted an all-encompassing organizational assessment complete with recommendations and timelines for completion of those recommendations in the areas of Operations, Fundraising, Programming, Staffing and Board Development* Developed a 10-year Success (Strategic) Plan based on the Year 2030 Goals the board has for the Bus, complete with short (1 – 3), mid (4 – 6) and long (7 – 10) year term benchmarks that can be used to create annual workplans* Exceeded fundraising goals for the C3 for 2019 by re-engaging with donors and including them in the transition process* Moving the agency from a hierarchical to a shared leadership model for its next executive director, leading to the hiring of a Co-Executive Director for Operations and Development and a Co-Executive Director for Policy and Program * Revamped staff job descriptions; recruited, hired and onboarded entirely new team of program and operations staff

* Guided organization from one of transition to one of stability – professionally, administratively and financially (ex. moved agency from 2.8 FTE to 4 FTE to improve service delivery; instituted health insurance for all staff; came into agency with deficit approved budget of negative $67,000, to a net surplus of $14,000 – a positive swing of $81,000)* Increased revenue at annual fundraiser by 22% and secured a multi-year six figure grant * Undertook organizational assessment, identified operational and programmatic strengths and weaknesses and implemented strategies to positively address areas identified as needing change* Prepared annual operating budget; developed monthly projections, and managed transition from outside third-party bookkeeper to internal contractor; migrated from QuickBooks desktop to QuickBooks online, including payroll system * Revamped organizational by-laws, personnel practices handbook, staff job descriptions and crafted conflict of interest policy to better align with the organization’s mission and adhere with best non-profit practices* Recruitment of new staff; trained new and existing personnel* Developed an organizational operations guide to assist new leadership with transition * Initiated and facilitated board development training to provide greater insight into board governance, fundraising and role of the board versus management* Identified need to relocate office due to inadequacy of space; located real property and facilitated move to new office

Oversaw and managed the planning, fund distribution, education, community affairs and government relations functions of a community-based non-profit agency which raised more than $5 million dollars annually. The organization supports more than 42 social service, education and community building agencies working to meet the needs of Jews locally, nationally and globally.MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS• INITIATED creation of SAFE Washington, a community coalition, aimed at keeping the community safe from natural, manmade, and technological disasters. SAFE Washington helps develop and train community partners in disaster response, community security, and community preparedness and leverages increased opportunities for federal grant funding of community safety and security programs. • PIONEERED development of integrated fundraising and grant-making model; stewarded twenty-seven agencies through grant process redesign – from unrestricted to earmarked programmatic support ¬– in one funding cycle.• SPEARHEADED development efforts that raised over $4 million of earmarked program funding and obtained over $3 million in federal funds for capital projects.• MANAGED all aspects of major office relocation and subsequent remodel and renovation of facility, including all financial oversight, being the key liaison and decision-maker and coordinating the building rededication ceremony.• OVERSAW Government Affairs program to guarantee ongoing flow of state and federal dollars to beneficiary agencies• PRODUCED multiple community festivals with a combination of cultural, social and educational programming attracting more than 4,000 attendees from around the region.
